Why depletion matters

The pattern is well established. Statins reduce CoQ10. Long-term metformin lowers vitamin B12. Proton pump inhibitors interfere with magnesium and B12 absorption. Certain diuretics deplete potassium and magnesium. None of this means the medication is wrong for you. It means there is a second thing worth watching alongside it.

What makes depletion easy to miss is that the symptoms look like something else. Fatigue, muscle aches, tingling in the hands and feet, and brain fog all get attributed to aging or to the underlying condition. We go through your medication list, flag the documented depletions, suggest lab work where it would clarify things, and check any supplement against what you already take before you start it.
